Chabad of Southern Nevada, 25 Years in the Making

By March 27, 2016Projects

We recently had the pleasure of working with Chabad of Southern Nevada to help them tell their story for their 25th anniversary.  The project itself was fairly large, with over a dozen people interviewed and tons of supporting footage compiled over the course of a month.  From the outside, we knew Chabad was a great organization that did wonderful things in the community, but to see behind the scenes and to hear their story first hand was a real treat.

1991---Harlig-Family

Rabbi and Dena Harlig moved to Las Vegas 25 years ago with the idea of building a Chabad center.  It began humbly; they started by holding services and classes in their home, but their warmth and genuine passion helped to grow the organization quickly.  Over time, the organization built their first center, then a second, then a third.  Today, there are 8 Chabad Centers throughout the Las Vegas valley, including the Desert Torah Academy Jewish Day School, an outstanding educational program in general and Judaic studies, teaching over 250 young students.  The Las Vegas community has embraced Chabad of Southern Nevada and it continues to thrive.  Take a look at their amazing story; we can’t wait to see what they do over the next 25 years.  Mazel Tov!
